Request to Conduct Research

All research projects conducted at the CMRIF must be approved by the Protocol Review and Grant Development Committee. This review panel will oversee the confidential and anonymous review of all proposals for research in the CMRIF. Depending on the research topic, reviews will be solicited from experts in such areas as plant science, small animal scanning, computational biology, biomedical engineering, social science, behavioral neuroscience, and many others. The review process is designed to promote equipment use, to ensure scientific merit and technical feasibility, and to oversee use of the imaging resources and guarantee fairness of access for both extramural and intramural researchers. Project investigators will be asked to monitor compliance with NIH/NSF guidelines.

To begin a new study, please submit a CMRIF Research Proposal Form by email to The form can be viewed with Adobe reader/Acrobat only.
